Health and Disease: Acne
Unfortunately for the many people who suffer from it, there is no way to completely and permanently rid yourself of acne, although we still spend lots of money trying to treat it. People are all different, and this applies to our body chemistry and the oils in our skin as well, and to the way various aspects of life affect them. This means that while a particular treatment may be just the thing for one person, it may have side effects for someone else. Below are some of the natural and herbal based remedies which can be used for acne.
People often think that natural and herbal acne treatments are not going to be effective, perhaps thinking that if they were effective then more people would be using them. The companies which make the products say that they work, but do they really? In fact some do work, but others do not, and they may work for some people and not others. So if people say they work it is because they have worked for them.
There are a lot of people who try herbal and natural solutions before they try other types of remedy, perhaps because this is what you did in the past. Yet today many people do believe still that it is much healthier to avoid ingesting products and foods which are processed, or which contain chemicals.
Basically, it is for each individual to decide whether herbal remedies work for you or not, and the same is true for natural acne treatments. It is a good idea to do some research first, to find answers to any questions you might have about the remedy or the ingredients, and which herbs are likely to be effective, or which products have the herbs in them which can be used to treat acne.
Acne is believed to be caused by bacteria, so a doctor could choose to use antibiotics to treat the infection, however antibiotics can have side effects. Natural remedies you could opt for include tea tree oil and Echinacea.
There is a large range of different products available on the market which you can use for acne, including natural face packs and herbal teas. None of these have been shown to have any side effects, however it should be noted that none of them have been subjected to long term studies either. Still, people have been using herbal treatments for acne for a very long time and have never reported any side effects.
Before you start using herbal or natural acne remedies, it would be advisable to consult a dermatologist, who could perhaps be able to recommend some natural products for you to try.
